Although the European Directive on the protection of whistleblowers has been effective since December 17 2021, we still do not have any Polish legislation. Last year, a draft of the national Act was presented, but it has not been adopted yet. Currently, large companies, holdings, as well as companies owned by the Treasury are submitting their objections concerning the proposed regulations.

Dr hab. Beata Baran discussed the objections to the draft of the Polish Act on reporting irregularities and the protection of whistleblowers for Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. Our expert commented on the proposals concerning the abandonment of punishments for unintentional hindering of reporting and discussed the need to conduct explanatory proceedings.
