Prof. UŁ Małgorzata Kurzynoga
PhD with Habilitation. She has 15 years of experience in labour law, specialising in collective, European, and international labour law.
She has been employed at the Department of European, International, and Collective Labour Law at the University of Lodz since 2010.
She obtained the doctoral degree in legal sciences in 2010, based on the dissertation entitled “The Prerequisites for the Legality of Strike”, which received the award of the Council of the Faculty of Law and Administration and was later published in form of the monograph “The Prerequisites for the Legality of Strike” (Wolters Kluwer, 2011). In 2019, she received the degree of habilitated Doctor of Legal Sciences based on the monograph “Legal Responsibility for Strike and Other Forms of Employee Protest” (Wolters Kluwer, 2018).
She wrote about 60 academic publications on labour law and was a speaker at Polish and international labour law conferences.
She is also the author of numerous legal opinions related to labour law. She acted both as an expert and a mediator in collective labour disputes.
In the years 2015-2018 she received the stipend of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding young scholars who conduct high-quality research and have excellent international academic achievements. She received several awards of the Rector of the University of Lodz for scientific achievements.
She is a member of the International Society for Labour and Social Security Law. Since 2011, she has also been a member of the international research team that analyses the judgments which are particularly important for the theory and practice of labour law. The results are published in the annual journal “International Labour Law Reports” issued by the International Labour Organisation. She coordinates the international cooperation between the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz and ADAPT – the association that promotes studies and research in the field of labour law and industrial relations from an international and comparative perspective at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
She conducts legal projects in Polish and English languages.
